Leonard Streckfus

Leonard Streckfus creates images of living creatures from the used-up, mass-produced junk that increasingly pollutes our planet.  The intent is an environmental and ecological one, with a message of how we human beings can choose to act destructively or creatively to affect the health of the earth and all the creatures living and dependent on it.

Streckfus was recently selected along with three other artists, to participate in the “Synergy” exhibition at the Johns Hopkins University, which explored the transformative potential of imagination in art while addressing larger societal issues such as pollution, waste disposal, habitat destruction, sustainability and quality of life.
