Peggy Kauffman

Peggy Kauffman is a portrait artist driven by a passion for all animals with a focus on horses and dogs.  Her life revolved around competing and caring for horses in multiple disciplines which augmented a strong sense of confirmation and its effect on movement.

The inherent spirit portrayed in all her work as an artist is the hallmark of Peggy’s work.

My inspiration evolves by tapping into that emotional quality that moves the spirit of my subject.  If I get lost, I persist and stay with it.  Something always manifests.  I just keep my faith in the process.  The art of abstract impressionism remains an elusive quest as I aspire for more personal interpretations of my subjects yet maintaining that aura of realism a client expects from my work.More recent work has been consumed with attempts to balance the two.

Peggy majored in Art at Bennett College and continued her education at the Maryland Institute College of Art.
