Tim Bell

Tim Bell is a painter in the American Impressionist tradition.  He is a native Marylander, and currently resides south of Annapolis.  He draws inspiration from the region’s beaches, waterways and hillsides and their inhabitants.  

Tim graduated from Frostburg State University with a degree in Fine Arts. Post-graduate studies were conducted at Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts in Annapolis, Maryland, and the Cape Cod School of Art in Provincetown, Massachusetts.  Bell is active in the Rehoboth Art League in Delaware, and is a certified member of the Maryland Society of Portrait Painters.  

Tim won first place at the Maryland Mountain Plein Air competition in Cumberland, and the Best Marine Award and People’s choice in 2009 Plein Air-Easton! where he also received the Vanishing Landscape Award and the People’s Choice Award in 2009, and the Utrecht Award for best use of light in 2007.  Tim received the grand prize and Best Marine Painting at Plein Air-Easton!  

In 2006 Tim received a first place award in the Rehoboth Beach Paint out.  He was also listed in the the Pick of the Palette Top Ten Contemporary Painters to Collect in Delaware, by Delaware Beach Life.  

His paintings hang in private collections throughout the United States and Great Britain, and are included in the permanent collection of Frostburg State University.
